A Chilling Marriage Story
That's how their relationship began. The guy was from France, a country full of romantic love stories. They communicated via Emails and phone calls, which made them fall in love with each other rapidly. Then Lily flew to France to see her loved one, knowing that Roger had to look after his ill father, which made it impossible for Roger to come to China. They had a wonderful time together and made the decision to get married. Roger introduced Lily to his mother. Most people from other countries probably got the thought that Chinese people, especially Chinese women were traditional, conservative and also family-oriented. Seeing that Lily was so happy with the housework, Roger's mother accepted Lily as her daughter-in-law. Soon Roger resigned his job and came to china. Lily was so moved to see that her man sacrificed himself in such a selfless way. Then they happily got married in Shanghai, which seemed to make a happy ending of this story. Well, if that's what you're thinking, you're totally wrong.
Lily and Roger had a hardship because Roger had been unemployed since he had come to China. They lived on Lily's salary to get by while Roger was unemployed. Lily did her best to help her husband. She used all her interpersonal relationships in order that her husband could get a job. Finally, after attempting for several months, Roger got a brilliant job offer with Lily's help. The salary was about 20,000 RMB per month. It seemed that things were getting better, although these two people sometimes quarreled with each other over some insignificant things.
Then Lily got pregnant and soon gave birth to a baby and the new born baby seemed to change Lily's life forever. Lily was more than 30 years old at that time, which made the delivery more difficult. They chose to accept the Caesarian operation. While his wife was still in the operating theater, Roger was told that he should pay extra money for the catgut suture because it was not included in the medical insurance. Then an everlasting nightmare started from here.
When Lily came back with the newborn baby to their lovely home, Roger, her husband, wanted the catgut suture fee back, which was totally out of Lily's expectation. She had never imagined that her husband would do such a thing to her. They were having a baby, which meant they had to make efforts together to support the family. Now she couldn't believe that a guy who earned more than 20,000 RMB a month didn't want to pay the operation fee (1000 RMB) for his wife who had just had a Caesarian operation. Lily's heart was broken. From Lily's point of view, Roger was totally different from what he used to be from that time. However, her husband didn't seem to realize that and kept asking her for the money. Then things were getting worse and worse. Roger preferred to spent money on socializing with his friends or buying some luxury goods rather than on his wife and child; he preferred to hang out at pubs rather than stay at home. Lily had to look after the baby all by herself.
Looking after newborn child is a very exhausting work. For Lily hadn't recovered from the operation, she wanted her mother to come over and take care of the baby. However, this advice was rejected by her husband. The reason was that the family should only have three people--Lily, Roger and the baby. Considering the culture differences, Lily accepted the decision of her husband and started to look after the baby. Meanwhile, Lily's mother-in-law changed the attitude to her. There're a lot of details that I'm not gonna describe here, or else, it is going to be too long. In a word, one thing led to another. Lily felt that she was being treated like a landlady more and more. She chose to bear the situation as long as her baby could have a complete family.
Then, unfortunately, Lily found out that Roger was having an affair with his ex-girlfriend. What made it even worse was that Lily was badly beaten several times by her husband for her so-called wrong doings. Now it's not about culture shock, it's not about differences. Lily didn't know what kind of things could make a guy like that.
Finally, here is the end of the story. One day, Lily told her husband that she was going to take the baby outside with her father, which made Roger angry. This time, Lily didn't listen to her husband and took the child with her to see her father. When they came back, Roger unexpectedly locked the door and didn't allow them in. Lily and the child were locked outside whole night and they had to spend the night at her parents’ apartment. Lily said, her child never called Roger "Daddy" again since then and he even didn't want to talk about him. Then Roger moved out of their home and took all valuables things away with him, he rejected all Lily's phonecalls. After one year, they finally got divorced and the court had to force Roger to pay the solarium to raise the child.
I heard this story from an interview and I think this story will make many people outrageous. However, I'm not denying French people. I truly believe that most people are good and honest. Well, that's all for the story. My Email is vivian.zhh@gmail.com or vvgirl250@hotmial.com. All kinds of opinions are welcome. Have a nice day!
Two Cars Found in London with Explosive Devices
From www.marketwatch.com
LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- Police in London narrowly averted another deadly terrorist attack on the city Friday after finding separate explosive devices in two cars parked in the busy West End district, according to reports from the BBC.The first bomb, made of 60 liters of gasoline, gas cylinders and nails, was found in a metallic green Mercedes-Benz outside the Tiger Tiger nightclub, in Haymarket, early Friday morning. Ambulance workers found the car by chance when they were called to the nightclub. They alerted authorities when they spotted what they thought was smoke, but what is now believed was vapor, coming from the car.
A second device was found in another Mercedes, in a parking lot in London's Park Lane. It had been towed to the Park Lane car park after it was found parked illegally, close to Trafalgar Square, also in London's central district, the BBC reported.
Staff at the impound lot contacted officials after hearing about the Haymarket incident because the car smelled of gasoline.
Government sources told the BBC that "international elements" are believed to be involved.
The second anniversary of the July 7, 2005 London bombings is just a week away. In those attacks, a series of coordinated terror blasts hit London's public-transport system during the morning rush hour, killing 52 commuters along with four suicide bombers and injuring 700.
The West End is an area in central London that contains many of the city's major tourist attractions, as well as business and administrative headquarters. It's also a magnet for partygoers. The Tiger Tiger club, the site of the first car bomb, was packed with up to 1,700 revelers at the time the device was discovered.
Police in London said that both devices were "viable" and "clearly linked."
The head of Scotland Yard's counterterrorism command, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Peter Clarke, said that the discovery of a second device was "obviously troubling." He said there was a substantial amount of fuel and gas canisters in the first vehicle, along with a "substantial" quantity of nails.
"It's obvious that if the device had detonated there could have been serious injury or loss of life," said Clarke, in reference to the first car bomb found.
London police are examining close-captioned TV footage from Haymarket and are believed to be making progress toward identifying a suspect, according to the BBC.
Patrols in London were stepped up following the discovery of both vehicles, with the Haymarket area closed as officers carry out forensic searches. Both vehicles are being examined by forensics experts.
Scotland Yard would not comment on reports that a mobile phone was found in the first Mercedes -- a device that could have been used to trigger the explosion. Mobile phones were used in the Madrid train-station bombings of 2004, and also have been used to detonate bombs in Iraq.

Find Your Dream Retirement Job
Unlike past generations content to spend their sunscreen years warming themselves on Florida beaches or playing endless rounds of golf, most boomers plan to occupy the latter part of their lives working. In a poll by AARP, 79% said they intended to work in some capacity in retirement.
If you are approaching retirement age and aren't quite ready to exit the rodent race, here are three tips for finding your dream retirement job:
1. Update your skills. Older workers bring a level of expertise and practical experience that comes only with time. But employers will be reluctant to hire you if your technical skills haven't kept pace with advances in your field. Increase your odds of landing a good position by boning up on your computer skills and learning what's going on at the cutting edge of your field. Many colleges offer night and weekend classes for professionals and universities increasingly are making their course lists and lectures available free online.
2. Start where you are. When you're ready to begin looking for a new job, talk to your current employer first. Your inside knowledge of the company culture and practices will be hard to replace and the company may be willing to offer you a part-time or consultant position to keep you in the fold. If that doesn't work, get the word out through friends and colleagues that you're searching for a job, and don't forget to use events hosted by professional organizations as an opportunity to network.
3. Explore job boards for older workers. With more and more boomers embarking on the second phase of their careers, job-hunting sites geared toward over-50s are proliferating. For more information, visit RetirementJobs.com, RetiredBrains.com or SeniorJobBank.com.
Beef And Sushi
I've been living alone for almost 4 months, which means I've already got used to having dinner by myself. I have a variety stock of instant noodles. My breakfast is yogurt, lunch--instant noodles and one egg, supper--one or two pieces of chocolates or some junk food in my hand at the time. Today, I cooked beef and Sushi, although I had to eat them by myself as usual. This kind of beef which has been sliced is a common food when you have hot-pot. You can buy it at any super-market in China. The cooking steps are easy for everyone. You just need to boil the beef and put them with peppers and green onion. Then pour the sauce (including sugar, salt, vineger, soy sauce and also oyster juice) and stir all the materials well. At last you can enjoy your delicious oyster oil beaf. Tastes good!
Sushi is a very popular food in Japan, which is also considered to be healthy food. I heard that especially Amercian people focus on Sushi with great passion. It's made of rice, vineger, egg, sea weed and also you can use sausage, shrimps as you like. First you need to get the rice steamed and stir the rice with the Sushi vineger. Sushi vineger is made from sugar and white vinegar. The propotion of sugar and white vinegar is 1:5. Then you can start to make delicious Sushi. By the way, a special bamboo sushi mat is also neccessary for making Sushi. Put the bamboo sushi mat at the bottom and a piece of sea weed on it. Then lay rice on the sea weed and fried egg and other materials. Then put rice again above all the materials. At last, use the bamboo sushi mat to roll up all the materials. Then use knife to cut it into small cantlets. Enjoy your self-made Sushi.6/28/2007
My iPhone Diary-My Favorite Kind
Both my man and I are crazy about iPhone. We bought a Mac computer a few months ago. And now iPhone looks so beautiful that we really want to have one...maybe two for both of us. I don't know wehter it's going to be on sale in China or not. Anyway, I'll manage to get one.
I've Never Seen Such A Bastard Before
Women sometimes sacrifice themselves to prove the selflessness and greatness of love. Despite men may not appreciate what they've done, women still want to let it have a go. My friend caught her boyfriend chatting with another girl who worked at the same company. For her boyfriend owns the company, and all of them, including my friend, are working at the same company, which make it easy to find out what's going on among them.
My friend complained to me that wasn't the first time when her boyfriend tried to see other girls and he used to have a girlfriend who broke up with him for finding out that he was having an affair. My advice to her is that she should break up with the guy at once for knowing that he's such a bad guy. However, my friend didn't seem to be able to get up her nerves to make the final decision. I could understand her, after all, they had been going out for more than one year; they used to have such a wonderful time; they fell in love with each other.Maybe it's time for her to think about their relationship very carefully. Hope everything goes well with her.
Well, that's enough for my friend. Now, it's my turn. I went to Wall Street English and spent about two hours there studying English. As I'm preparing for my toefl exam, I've got to make more efforts than others. I must haven't got used to the forms of examination. I always haven't got enough time to answer all the questions. For there's no shortcut, I'll just keep working hard. As people say, there's a will, there's a way.
Tomorrow, I'm going to continue the ie-china.com stuff. Okay, that's all for today...

Will iPhone Rock Music Industry-My Favorite Cell Phone

From http://www.cnn.com/
LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Carlos Gomez could be the recording industry's ideal mobile music customer.
His phone is his music player of choice and he spends about $100 a month buying songs for it -- often on impulse after hearing a tune on his car radio.
That's why he's not buying an iPhone.
It's not that he doesn't want one. The 24-year-old office clerk is mesmerized by the look and feel of Apple Inc.'s uber-sleek new phone that's a combination cell phone, iPod media player and Web-browsing gadget. He particularly likes its touch-screen navigation.
But Gomez says he won't buy the handset because users can't use it to buy and download music over a wireless network.
Instead, iPhone owners will have to buy music via their computers and then download it to their phones, a process called side-loading.
"I'm not the type of person that likes to wait until I get home," Gomez said. "If I hear it, I want it there and then."
The arrival of the iPhone on Friday has stoked optimism among some music company executives that it will usher in a new wave of easier-to-use mobile music devices or even entice more people into embracing the phone as music player -- and into buying more music.
"The introduction of the iPhone is an enormously positive event," said Warner Music Group Corp. CEO Edgar Bronfman Jr. at a conference earlier this month in New York. "It creates more and more consumers who are looking to buy music, but it also galvanizes the mobile industry to compete."
Some analysts, however, say mobile music sales will be dampened as long as users are limited to loading music on their phones via their PCs and Macintosh computers, and blocked from buying music wirelessly.
"The whole idea of on-the-go instant gratification isn't there," said Ted Cohen, managing partner of media consulting firm Tag Strategic.
Currently, Sprint and Verizon Wireless are the only wireless network operators in the U.S. that directly sell full-track downloads for mobile phones, a process referred to as over-the-air downloads. Even so, they trail Apple's iTunes Music Store in digital music sales.
In all, about 386 million digital tracks so far this year have been purchased online or downloaded over-the-air in the U.S., according to Nielsen Mobile. The firm does not break out figures for over-the-air purchases.
About 4 percent of all mobile phone users in the U.S. and 27 percent of those with MP3-capable handsets side-loaded music onto their phones in the first quarter of this year, according to a survey by research firm The NPD Group.
In contrast, just under 1 percent of all wireless subscribers and nearly 6 percent of those with music-player phones downloaded music over-the-air in the same period, the firm said.
AT&T Inc. is the exclusive service provider for the iPhone. Its customers can download ringtones wirelessly but not music tracks. Subscribers with AT&T have the option to buy full-length tracks through their phones from digital music retailers such as Napster Inc., but the songs are downloaded to their PCs, not their phones.
Some analysts say iPhone will keep customers coming back to the iTunes store.
"Apple doesn't really believe, at least so far, in the model of purchasing music on the go," said Charles Golvin, principal mobile analyst for Forrester Research.
"The model that Apple has very steadfastly held to is that your PC or your Mac is the interface for browsing and discovering and purchasing content," he said.
Still, Golvin doesn't expect the iPhone to have much of an impact on iTunes sales.
"I imagine most of the people who'll buy the iPhone will be iPod users already," he said.
Some industry watchers say consumers haven't shown a clear preference for buying mobile music wirelessly.

"Most of the music on phones today is side-loaded," said Dan Cryan, digital music analyst for Screen Digest, a market research firm. "Over-the-air has not proved to be overly popular so far."
One reason is that wireless carriers have traditionally charged more for music downloaded directly to phones -- sometimes more than twice the usual 99-cent cost of a track bought using a computer.
Many early music phones have also had small screens, which make for cumbersome navigation through music store menus.
Apple spokeswoman Jennifer Bowcock declined to comment on the features of the iPhone, though the company has posted an online video that shows how the song library can be easily accessed by swiping a finger over the touch screen. In fact, nearly every aspect of the phone is controlled via the screen.
As mobile phones become more sophisticated, the devices represent an increasingly tantalizing revenue opportunity for cash-hungry record labels and digital music retailers.
Early phones could only hold rudimentary monophonic ringtones -- simple jingle renditions of recorded songs. Now, phones that play CD-quality music, video and games are common.
As network speeds increase, Internet-capable phones are being used for a number of functions, including streaming radio and TV broadcasts and exchanging instant message with computer users. IPhone users will be able to wirelessly stream videos from YouTube.
As a mere portable music player, the iPhone has far less storage than many higher-end iPods or other standalone portable music players. A 4-gigabyte version costs $499, while an 8-gigabyte model costs $599.
Its bigger screen and touch-screen navigation are seen by many as a step in the right direction for the mobile phone industry, which has often been accused of churning out gadgets that are too cumbersome.
"They're still complicated to use in terms of accessing and downloading music," Bronfman said.
Another drawback is that the speed of wireless networks in the U.S. lags those in other parts of the world, such as Asia and Europe, he said.
At a wireless industry conference earlier this year, EMI Group PLC CEO Eric Nicoli said his company remains open to either the side-loading of tracks purchased online or direct, over-the-air music sales, among other business models.
"We'll try anything and everything, recognizing that the consumer will ultimately decide."

Biograhpy of Jennifer Aniston
From: http://www.anistoncenter.comOne of My Best Friends
A few days ago, she quitted her current job and started preparing for her Gmat examination for she has planning to go to America since she met her boyfriend. From my point of view, Gmat is so difficult that I even dare not to think about it. So far, I'm preparing for my Toefl exam and we have a lot of things to share with each other. Although we're going to different countries, one thing clear is that both of us want to start a new life.
Lucia is also our classmate who spent wonderful four years with us at the university. She's kind of conservative, strong minded and also beautiful. She broke up with her first man a few years ago for the man cheated on her and hooking up with another girl. As Lucia loved her man desparately, she chose to bear the situation for almost three years. Unfortunately, the man didn't appreciate all what she had done for him. Apart from Lucia and the "another girl", the man was also seeing the third woman, which made Lucia get up nerves to get out of this painful love chain. She doesn't approve of me and Lilia going abroad. She even doesn't want to talk about it.
After graduating from university, Lilia moved to Shanghai for work and I had been working for an E-commerce online shop for about two years before we re-started having our small party. As time goes by, all of us have changed a lot--losing jobs, losing lovers. However, we're always happy to meet each other for remembering the friendship we have in our mind. We sometimes talk about the interesting stuff happened in our lives.
One thing that makes me so happy is that Lilia is going to stay at Beijing for a long time and we have enough time to play cards, go to pubs and disco.
That's all for today. This morning, I bought a domain name called http://www.ie-china.com/ aiming to introduce Chinese traditinal culture to the whole world, which I think will help Amos to start up his own business. I've been waiting from this afternoon and the website is still not available.

China Tries to Contain Scandal Over Slave Labor With Arrests and Apology

By DAVID LAGUE
Published: June 23, 2007
BEIJING, June 22 — Chinese authorities moved to contain a widening slave labor scandal with an apology from a provincial governor for abuses that have shocked the country, and the arrest of two labor officials, state news media said Friday.
Yu Youjun, the governor of Shanxi Province in northern central China, took responsibility for the failure to protect hundreds of farmers, migrant workers and children forced to work without pay in brick kilns and other businesses, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
“As Shanxi governor, I'll take the blame for the scandal that infringed the rights of farm workers and children,” Mr. Yu was quoted as saying. “I feel guilty and heart-stricken over the scandal. It has infringed the rights of migrant workers and children, hurt them both physically and mentally, and had a shocking effect both in and out of China.”
The outcry over forced labor is a serious blow to the ruling Communist Party under the leadership of President Hu Jintao and Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, who are trying to promote their vision of a harmonious society sharing the benefits of the country's extended economic boom. The reality for many workers in remote provinces, far from the booming coastal cities, is that they are vulnerable to exploitation without any protection from the government or unions, labor activists say.
Those abuses contribute to widespread dissatisfaction and anger in rural areas, where protests and demonstrations are now common.
On Thursday, the police arrested two labor inspectors from Yongji city in Shanxi who were accused of negligence and abuse of their powers, Xinhua reported.
Amid a national outcry, the central government has begun an inquiry into the widespread exploitation of migrant workers and children in the backward province.
Some of the workers and children were abducted from rural train and bus stations or enticed to travel to the kilns with bogus offers of good pay and conditions.
Once they arrived, they were often beaten, poorly fed and forcibly prevented from leaving, according to news media reports.
'The abuses were exposed in reports in China's increasingly feisty news media last week after parents had unsuccessfully pleaded with the authorities for assistance to find and free their children.
Earlier this month, more than 400 parents in neighboring Henan Province posted a letter on the Internet complaining that their children had been abducted and sold as laborers to brick kiln operators in Shanxi.
Chinese journalists say the authorities have since tried to limit coverage of the abuses, which have highlighted an often unseen consequence of China's economic boom: the brutal working conditions endured by many workers in remote areas of the country.
But coverage has continued with the official news media also saying Friday that the police had placed 35 people in criminal detention and were hunting for 20 others suspected of involvement in the use of forced labor in the kilns. There are suggestions that further abuses may be uncovered. “Forced laborers of unknown number, both adults and children, may still be suffering,” the official China Daily newspaper said, “and officials who have shielded the notorious business have yet to be brought to justice.”
Investigators have rescued 359 people, including 65 who are mentally retarded and 12 children, from the kilns, the reports said. The police in Henan rescued more than 200 others, the reports said.

Employment of children younger than 16 is forbidden in China, but the investigation has exposed the complicity of local officials in the scandal, state news media reported.
China's central government has ordered provincial authorities in Shanxi to mount a full investigation and to compensate victims.
Authorities from Hongtong County in Shanxi sent teams to 12 provinces to visit the homes of victims to deliver letters of apology, pay outstanding salaries and arrange compensation, Xinhua said.
Unexpected Rain
I was awaken by a phone call which was from my Wall Street study advisor Ada. She called to remind me that I had forgotten my Complementary Class of Unit 33. For a second there, I was like totally shocked. I always put everthing in order and make a plan beforehand. This little accident made me feel very bad. Aparting from the unexpected accident, my Mom and my step-father came to me for dinner. For feeling lonely by myself, I always enjoy having dinner with them.
A few days ago, I had dinner with one of my former colleagues and we had this conversation. Both of us used to work for an e-commerce online shop. I worked as both a purchasing agent and a salesman whereas my colleague worked as a computer programmer. During the conversation, we made desicion to build up a website aiming to introduce Chinese traditional culture to the whole world. There will be a lot of thing ahead in order to start up our own business. We need to make a specific plan.

Facinating Sexy Turkish Belly Dance
One of my Turkish friends showed me this sexy and beautiful Turkish belly dance. Really beautiful...
I used to think you would need special clothes if you wanted to learn belly dance. However, he told me that it looked sexy anytime even when you wore jeans.
Fantasitc!
I can't open my blog
And here are the solutions to the problem:
(1) there is a website called http://www.pkblog.com/ which helps you access your blog. Go to this website and enter your blog name. That means if your blog is bloomingvale.blogspot.com, you just need to enter the"bloomingvale". Click the button "Access Now". Then you'll see your blog as www.pkblogs.com/bloomingvale.
(2) Here is the second solution if you don't want to change your domain name.
You need to download a hosts file and unzip it to the following directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\ And cover the former hosts file when system reminds you.
Then open the hosts file with notepad, add your blog domain name and save it. For instance, if your blog name is bloomingvale.blogspot.com, you'll just need to add 72.14.219.190 bloomingvale.blogspot.com. After saving the file, restart your IE, you'll see your blog.
But the solution is only for your computer, other people in china or other limited areas won't be able to browse your blog. So that means you need to give them your blog as www.pkblogs.com/username (For example, www.pkblogs.com/bloomingvale).
Here are the two websites where you can download the hosts file:
(1) http://www.51files.com/?L3QAB70YK1HJ98F5RYUE
(2) http://www1.51ok.com/down.do?FC22BDE6D674F78DBF90A0939D86B229
Hope this article can help you out.

Starry Night

Starry, starry night,
